TROG it’s more than just another cycle club.
TROG is a Community Amateur Sports Club and is a Suffolk based Mountain Biking group who organise weekly rides around the trails and bridleways in Tunstall and Rendlesham Forests as well as other local venues. The object of TROG is to provide facilities for and promote participation of the whole community in the sport of mountain biking in Suffolk.
We are fully committed to working with the Forestry Commission to develop and maintain sustainable trails in Tunstall and Rendlesham for riders of all levels. We organise regular trailbuilding sessions in order to maintain the trails within the Forests.
We have a strong racing contingent, organise regular club trips to other mountain biking venues (Wales, Peak District, to name a few), hold BBQs and dinners and have hosted rounds of the Thetford Winter Series races and Mud Sweat & Gears.
TROG is an inclusive club and we welcome everyone from racing snakes to people who prefer to enjoy a gentle trundle through the woods. We also offer British Cycling approved training for members. We have worked closely with the local Scouts and Just 42.
Anyone is welcome to join the weekly Sunday morning ride to get a feel for what the club is about and what we do. These rides are aimed at riders of all abilities, and when the turnout is high we split into two or even three groups depending on experience and pace. Please see the club forum for details of where and when we meet. In addition to the Sunday rides there are usually various other club rides organised throughout the week; night-rides, training rides and social rides.
While the Sunday rides aim to cater for all abilities, we also hold introductory / novice sessions aimed at giving people a gentle introduction to the world of mountain biking in a more relaxing environment. We aim to run these sessions every two months if there is sufficient demand, if you are interested please either post on the Visitor's Lounge forum or contact a committee member directly.
Our ride guidelines are posted in the Rides section of the club forum. Please make sure you read them before you ride.
