Hi folks,
Being the first Sunday of the month, it's time for the February session.

The work will be to replace the collapsed berms at the end of section V2 where it drops down onto FR28. This area has been badly neglected over the years and needs some TLC. The first section of V2 after BH1 has been worked and is running well with some nice features so now it's time to do the final section that has a nice downhill slope. I'm not sure what to do with the middle which is just a dull and boring slog up the hill :( .

Meet at Fire Road 28 entrance @ 9 o'clock (on road from Tunstall village towards Orford :B1078). This is the entrance point for the harvesting contractors and the work area is almost at the gate.

The diversion route has been already been cleared and will just need sign posting on the day.

Probably finish about 12 or earlier for those who want to ride as well. Please bring suitable hefty footwear, safety boots if you have them, drink and some grub. If this is your first TB session with TROG, can you please fill-in the attached forms and give them to me on the day.

I will get the tools, safety gear, gloves etc from the container beforehand, but I would appreciate it if folks could post here if they are coming so I can get the right amount of gear.

Thanks,
John

Sorry, don't think I'll be able to make this, I've been putting up fencing all day and am a bit cream crackered.

Thanks to everyone who braved the rain/sleet/hail/snow and bright sunshine this morning  . Another crappy corner sorted out. I'm not surprised the old berm had collapsed given that it was backed up with compost that all needed digging out to get a good base to work from. Looking at the pictures I'm not sure it's going to be high enough for the speeds you can get down there so we might have to enhance it a bit some time :hmmm: .

We've not ridden it yet Hugh so it might not work as well as it looks. We didn't have time to do the last bit onto the fire road or to sort the wet areas up the trail we discussed last week. When this section is finished it will make a fast and interesting run down the hill. When its done we'll also have to see if the berm needs enlarging to cope with the potential speeds that might be obtained.
